A PLEA TO TUMBLR: Please don’t post these pictures. Jason Schwartzman is out at a record store, shopping and trying to be a normal person, and someone is taking his picture like he’s an animal in a zoo.

I’m sure this seems like a weird thing to care about, but having been on the receiving end of photographs like this, it sucks. As actors and entertainers, we’re expected to be “on” a certain amount of the time, and when we’re just out living our lives is not that time. It may not seem invasive to take pictures like this, but it is. Imagine how you would feel if you had to deal with people taking pictures of you everywhere you went, if you had to consider everything you did, because it could end up on the internet.

When you post pictures like this, it just encourages people to take them, so I’m asking you to stop. There are plenty of times when it’s entirely appropriate to take pictures of the artists you like for one reason or another, so I’m asking you to give them a break the rest of the time.
